Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she has the record of being awarded 10/10 marks at an Olympic performance. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics trainer who became Comaneci's coach later in life, discovered her at age six. She first competed at the championships for juniors from Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. Then in the year 1970, she was crowned champion. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she was the all-around junior champion. At her first competitive event at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals as well being awarded a silver. In 1976 she became the first person in the world who used a double backwards salto for a dismount off parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment business by performing in the form of a figure skater. With her younger sister Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol started her career in the entertainment business as a teen. At the age of a girl she started her career as an ice skater with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating events that included theatrical performances.
